The last concept that can be analyzed in order to understand and put a stop to the unrealistic beauty standards this society thrives within is the already existing solutions. Some aspects that can be analyzed include the existing solutions to these standards, such as individuals who work towards defying them, products that limit standards, and the current education being given about beauty ideals. Many solutions already exist on a small scale in this day and age. For instance, there are people who have tried to defy standards and end the stigmas set up for women and their appearances. One of these women is the plus size model Tess Holliday who launched her campaign, “#EffYourBeautyStandards” and continuously brands herself as a symbol for diverse body beauty ideals. Another person who defies these standards is model Winnie Harlow, who has a skin condition called vitiligo and uses that as her strength the promote diversity within the beauty industry. Companies also have created campaigns that take down these beauty standards that exist, such as Dove’s “Love Your Body” campaign that promotes diversity in bodies, skin tones, and more within lingerie sales to combat the generalized promotion of beauty in Victoria’s secret ads. Many companies also released multiple different versions of “nude” colored clothing to defy the standard idea that is typically sold. Another way that these issues are being solved already is through the education being given about beauty standards and their truths. TV shows can now be watched where diversity looks successful and the importance of self love is expressed. There are books that break down beauty standards that teach others why and how they can stopped. Understanding the currently existing solutions can spark idea and inspiration for others to continue the battle against this issue.
